5th December 2015 – Adriatic Sea
Here we go
again, in the North of Adriatic Sea, for a late autumn Bluefin tuna hunt with
friends.
It was a
classical “December” day: cold, 5° C temperature, constant wind from North and
choppy water.
We found
the fish almost immediately, but they were quite hard to reach: they were
single fish feeding slowly on surface with no real explosions or bursts. Fish
were very shy, and the choppy water didn’t help to identify the fish on
topwater. Seagulls have been extremely helpfull in those conditions.
I gave my
Surfish Paulownia 220F (pink-silver colour) to my friend Capt. Marco “B&C”
Mancinelli that first had a strike on a bluefin that didn’t remain hooked, and
after few minutes had a another beautiful topwater attack from a tuna: a nice
and healthy fish in the 35-40 kg range that has been safely released back to
the water.
Nice work
Marco ! The Paulownia 220F confirms its skill in catching Bluefin tunas even in
windy and choppy conditions, even with single hooks setup !
