First day offshore since 11th January 2015, finally back on the water
with good friends looking for Bluefin tuna on topwater.
Thanks to the good friend and great angler Capt.Andrea Diotallevi
we found them after about 30 miles of navigation !
Not big feeding frenzy, but just small bunch of groups of tunas,
single fish or 2-3 fish maximum.
They were moving very fast underwater, emerging topwater in
slow-motion probably feeding on very small baits.
They were very hard to reach, moving very fast and not very aggressive.
We had to wait the right chance to arrive on the fish in time before
they could submerge again and swim away too fast.
Finally we got the right occasion, and we had a nice double strike
for me and Andrea.
I was using the lure that provided me most of the catches in the
whole 2014, the Surfish 18cm Floating in the silver-blue color.
I really like using this lure, and my latest setup is Kudako 6/0
on the belly, and Decoy JS-1 8/0 on the tail to perfect balance
it for my jerk sytle.
The double strike without boga-grip forced us to pull them on
board before safely release them back in the water !
